A cleaner world

  • 500-backed cleantech startup SEPPURE has signed an agreement with GIIAVA, a manufacturer and exporter of soya lecithin powder and liquid.
  • Together, they will work together to develop a more sustainable and economical manufacturing process.
  • SEPPURE will implement its new generation of nanofilters at GIIAVA’s facility in Singapore. The startup claims that trials have demonstrated up to 50% reduction in energy consumption and 90% in greenhouse gas emissions. According to the statement, GIIAVA expects to save a 5- to 6-figure sum annually from energy savings.
  • SEPPURE founder, CEO, and CTO Dr. Mohammad Farahani said, “The GIIAVA plant in Singapore will be a game-changer for the agri-food industry. This project will pave the way for the adoption of more sustainable and more energy-efficient agri-food processes that rely less on fossil fuels…”

Driving growth

  • 500-backed used car marketplace Carsome said it plans to introduce more selections of electric vehicles (EVs) on its platform following the Malaysian government’s announcement of tax incentives for EVs.
  • Co-founder and group CEO Eric Cheng said, “We already have some Tesla models both new and used on our platform. Carsome is joining the EVs movement with brand-new Tesla models available now on our website starting with the Tesla Model 3. These Tesla models are available on a pre-order basis.”
  • “We are breaking record numbers on a month-to-month basis. We think that if there is no huge disruption in 2022, we will be able to continue with this momentum,” he added.
