A fruitful year

  • 500-backed Bukalapak recently announced a revenue jump of 58% to ~US$33.8 million in Q3 of 2021. This follows its move to accelerate its Mitra Bukalapak business segment, which focuses on serving SMEs.
  • At the same time last year, the segment reportedly contributed 19% to Bukalapak’s overall quarterly revenue. According to the company, this number increased to 43% this year, surging to US$14.4 million.
  • As of September this year, Bukalapak claims to have 110 million registered users. Through the Mitra business, it says it has partnered with 10.4 million mom-and-pop stores or warungs.

  • 500-backed robotics startup OhmniLabs chronicled its milestones and achievements in 2021, including the launch of the OhmniClean UV-C Disinfection Robot.
  • The startup claims to have deployed its telepresence robots to 213 K-12 (kindergarten to 12th grade) schools and higher education organizations to date.
  • In Australia, 6,300 people benefited from its services through MissingSchool, which aims to reach students who miss school because of serious illness or injury.
  • So far, the startup has served over 50 hospitals, helping patients interact with caregivers and keep in touch with their loved ones.
